English Rapist found hanged before sentencing.

A rapist has been found hanged in his prison cell the day before he was due to be sentenced for a sex attack on a woman at a holiday park. Paul Gigg, from Highwoods, Colchester, Essex, was found "unresponsive" in his cell by Norwich Prison staff on 27 January, it has emerged. A spokesman said they attempted CPR but he was pronounced dead by paramedics. Gigg, 30, raped his victim in October during an event at the Vauxhall Holiday Park, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. He was due to be sentenced at Norwich Crown Court last Monday, 28 January. The prison ombudsman will carry out an investigation into the death.
